“What a fantastic pub. We went on a late camping holiday in October 2010 and found the pub close to the campsite. We were away 4 nights and ate there 4 night such fantastic food and hospitality. Discovered they had only taken over 6 weeks before but just fab. We have booked the campsite for next may but only going back for the puband the food. Well done ian and karen your doing a great job. Delicious food
We visited the pub on a Saturday lunch time. We were given a friendly welcome and were told about all of the menus available. There was a wide range at a very good price. We chose one of the specials which came quickly and was delicious. We would definitely go again and recommend to friends and family.

Came across the Woodpecker as a good place to meet with friends before heading out for a lovely walk, very warm welcome and although fully booked still managed to fit all 9 of us in!. Food was exeptional for both adults and children. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Brilliant Food
We ate one of the best meals we've had in a pub for a long time, as well as a really warm welcome, lovely atmosphere and great prices. The menu as some really nice unusual choices, and a good range for non meat eaters. Can recommend the Beetroot horseradish and goats cheese tarts, and The stack of black. Lovely walks in the area so this dog friendly pub plus a massive car park and inviting outside seating for when the sun shines...The Woodpecker gets a gold star from us.
